Pat is originally from Cobb County and graduated from the Kennestone Hospital School of X-Ray Technology. The name was changed later to School of Radiologic Technology. Bill Barian, a stong life member of the Atlanta Society carried all the students to The Atlanta Student Seminar in 1968. Buddy Ayers, a past president of the GSRT was the Chief Tech and influenced her attendance at the GSRT meeting in Savannah in 1969.
After hearing Reba Taylor speak on professionalism during a Toland Lecture she returned to school at Emory and graduated with a Batchelor’s in Medical Science. After graduation she left Piedmont Hospital and joined the Athens Technical College staff to teach in the Radiologic Technology Program.
Vision: The members of the GSRT have been like family to me over the years. I can never give back as much as I have gained. The Society will continue to give experience to the new and old members who choose to give of themselves for the benefit of the many. I feel you only gain by giving and the more you give the more return you have on your investment. I have gained knowledge, friendships, and career contacts through my association with the society. I look forward to continuing this partnership in the future.
